Itinerary: August 3 - 13
Monday August 3
Depart Montreal in late afternoon
Tuesday August 4
Arrive, check into hotel, get museum passes, tour Dam Square
and other monuments
Wednesday August 5
10 a.m. depart for the antiquities of the Allard Pierson Museum,
then visit the Amsterdams Historisch Museum,
the Royal Palace and National Monument, with a stop at the open air
market
Thursday August 6
We will tour the Begijnhof area, Leidsplein canals, Museumplein and the
nearby Rijksmuseum
and Amsterdam's popular Vondelpark
Friday August 7
The day will include visits to two renowned churches, de Oude Kerk (the old church) and Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder(the hidden church). We will then check out modern art at the Stedelijk Museum as well as the nocturnal wonders of the Friday night programming at the
Van Gogh Museum
Saturday August 8
After perusing the flea market in the charming Jordaan neighbourhood, we will delve into cinematography at the Filmmuseum,
photography at FOAM and, well, tea and coffee at the Coffee and Tea Museum
Sunday August 9
After strolling through Nieuwmarkt
flea market we will familiarize ourselves with Rembrandt's
house, the seven bridges and some more museums, including the Jewish Historical Museum and
the Tropical
Museum
Monday August 10
Anne Frank House, the shops and galleries of the 9 streets area, the Hermitage Amsterdam and
more round out our last day exploring Amsterdam
Tuesday August 11
Day trip to Brugges, Brussells or the Hague
Wednesday August 12
Day trip to Delft, Haarlem, Leiden or Utrecht
Thursday August 13
Depart for Montreal
